Ferne Reeve was called to Trinity York Mills in 2001.
Ferne is married to Dave Reeve, an educator with the Peel Board of Education. They have one daughter. The Reeves share their home with a small dog to whom they are subservient. Prior to coming to Trinity, Ferne served Trafalgar Presbyterian Church, Oakville, Ontario for 15 years. Ferne grew up in Baddeck, a small town on Cape Breton Island's Bras d'Or Lake. It is a credit to the city of Toronto that she has come to love the city as well as Cape Breton. When asked what she likes best about her work, Ferne answered: There is much that I love about my life's work. I appreciate: - The delightful people of Trinity Presbyterian Church York Mills and the dynamic community life of the congregation
- The opportunity to pursue the various aspects of spirituality
- The privilege of working daily with Scripture
- The opportunity to be part of the significant life events around weddings, funerals, births, anniversaries
- The opportunity to be close to people who are facing life challenges as well as joys
- Chance to keep learning about faith and life
- Telling and hearing stories of the people of faith
- The opportunity to work with other people to make a difference for the neediest of our citizens
What is most important to you about the faith? The things I value about faith change on a regular basis. I continue to be attracted to God's acceptance of all people, the energy the Spirit available for daily living and the new life that comes into being when God is discernable. The resources of prayer and study give life meaning. What do you do for fun? The Reeves love: - Life at the cottage
- Reading
- Swimming
- Biking
- Hiking
- Refinishing furniture
